Nancy Rink has truly outdone herself with her newest Amish-inspired BOM design! It merges elements of a traditional Amish Trip Around the World with a unique center star and a variety of colorful blocks, all set against a black background. This 6-week class will take you from the very basics to a finished 54" square sampler quilt. Learn 16 different blocks, using different piecing techniques each week. This years quilt is a tribute to the Vietnam War and it's veterans. The quilt will be done in batiks reminisant of the 50's and 60's. Basic sewing skills needed. Friendship Offering is a sampler album style quilt. These album quilts were a combination of applique, piecing and broderie perse-style blocks. They were not solely stitched in red and green colors. Some of them appear to be pieced but are applique. Although the blocks in this quilt are all very different, the final construction of the quilt will be simple sashing and a simple final frame of the blocks.

Sweet Emma is a medallion style applique quilt. There is a 24" square center featuring a house, flag and lots of blossoms. Additionally, there are twelve 12" square blocks surrounding this block to make the quilt center. The quilt center is bordered with a 10" wide simple vine applique border. The finished quilt will be approximately 70" square. If you have been wanting to learn to applique, this is the class for you.
