Beginning Cross Stitch

This class will provide information on fabric, thread & needle selections appropriate for project choice. Also covered - correct stitch construction, fabric and thread preparation and marking, outlining and embellishment usage, laundry, pressing and finishing options. Use your new skills by completing a country style pincushion project. Required Pattern: Queen Bee Pincushion by Heartstring Samplery

String Quilting

Learn the ?art? of string quilting as you piece together scraps of fabric to become a beautiful table runner or quilt. You will dig through fabric scraps and sew strings (strips) together to make as many 8? squares as possible during our time. We will discuss fabric combinations, sizes of strings, squaring with a ruler, and options for assembling into a finished project. This technique will not require accurate cutting of fabric strips or an accurately sewn ?? seam. Fabric will be provided in class but you may also bring any of your own scrap fabrics. The more to choose from the more fun it will be.
